Trade and Economy in Bremen

Bremen is the smallest independent Federal Land in Germany and comprises the cities of Bremerhaven and Bremen which, with a population of around 550,000, ranks amongst the 10 largest cities in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Forward-looking and rooted in tradition: for more than five hundred years, the self-administration body of Bremen's economy has endeavoured to promote the success of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and its business enterprises. The tradition of Bremen, like that of its economy, is a tradition of independence: as a free city-republic, as a business community which demands its right to shape the city's fortunes, and as a Chamber of Commerce which is devoted to upholding these values.
